Tibetan Buddhist monk and physician Dr. Ngawang Thogmey will visit the
International Woman’s Center in Marfa on December 1 and 2 to offer
workshops on healing and meditation in the spiritual tradition of his country.

Two workshops will be held: Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., and Thursday
morning at 10 a.m.

Reservations are recommended as space is limited. Suggested donation is
$25 per person, $15 for students with ID. The seminar is open to both women
and men.

Dr. Thogmey’s training is rooted in the Tibetan tradition of healing through
meditation and breathing. In Buddhism, the belief is that the mind generates
healing energies, while the body grounds them.

Dr. Thogmey has been visiting the United States since 2006, when he
accompanied his cousin to act as a translator. Since that time, he has
returned to the U.S. annually to raise funds for a school and health clinic in the
Dirang region of northeastern India, sponsored by the Sorig Foundation (“So”
– life/health; “Rig” education/culture). As part of the exiled people of Tibet, this
effort serves to preserve Tibetan culture by offering health care and education
to the people of this area, which adjoins the Tibetan border.

This rare visit to Marfa by Dr. Thogmey offers a unique opportunity to learn
from someone who has developed a mastery of Tibetan healing methods and
their application.

Reservations can be made by calling the International Woman’s Foundation at
(432)729-4826 or (432)386-8212
